Yesterday i found out that one of my favourite bands had gone their separate ways.
I first came across Hearts Under Fire a few years ago on Myspace, and have followed them since.
I didnt actually get a chance to see them play until earlier this year.
I remember the first show i went to really well...
ok... thats a lie.
I remember the first half, then i got rather pissed and the rest is blurry.
The Tour had taken its toll on Sian's Voice, so Mary took over for that set.Even without the standard line up, they kicked arse!
They were Supporting Gay For Jonny Depp, of which i had NO interest in sticking around to watch, as i had seen them play with Million Dead at the Underworld all those years ago.
I have a vague memory of chatting to some of them after the show.
I bought the Spitting Glass EP, and a t-shirt. Which is one of my favs...
shame i have no idea where it is!
Damn...

Second Time i caught them live i went with Emma and Kevin to Hitchin.
They were with the Computers and The JB Conspiricy.
Had a good Chat with Mary after they played. Just about random stuff really.
She was Super kool.
When the JBC played everyone got up to skank. and it was magic!
The last time i got to see them play, i went with Kevin to the Borderline.
I was curious about this place, cos The Tommys were ment to play there. However their show was postponed until further notice.
God...
Was i WASTED

If Kevin ever tempts me to the ways of Red Aftershock. SAY NO!
Once again... another flawless performance!
Even with a Small Stage, they were fantastic.
I bought them some drinks after.. God know what i was blahing about.
All i remember is coming home with another t-shirt!!
haha
So i have many many fond memories of my breif encounters with the band.

It just seems that the Longevity of Girl bands is always Tainted.
Hearts Under Fire in my eyes stood for everything i believe in.
They NEVER played up to the fact that they were an all Girl Rock Band. With HUF, it was what you see is what you get!
Even in current times, where band such as theirs and mine are taken seriously by the majority of the people that see us live, there is still prejudice amongst the music community.
I cant say i'm not crushed by their decision to call it a day.
We were just talking amongst ourselves how awesome it would be to play with them..
I wish Steph, Mary, Lexi and Sian all the best.
They've been a big inspiration to me.. and i wanna thank them for giving me the time of day and talking to me ... regaurdless how creepy and drunk i may of seemed!
RIP HUF
